Love’s Crown

In 2019

Greetings on this the Saturday of the Twenty-seventh Week in Ordinary Time
Readings: GAL 3:22-29; PS 105:2-3, 4-5, 6-7; LK 11:27-28
Notes: Yesterday we encountered the life of the Holy Family through the Blessed Mother in contemplation of the Rosary.

Today, Jesus reminds us that His Love, His Blessedness is for not just his mother who nursed him but for all that do the will of the Father! I think Mary, if she heard him, would have been proud. Love beyond family is an essential personal human development.

Doing good out of love is your crown.

First reading
For through faith, you are all children of God in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

Responsorial Psalm
The Lord remembers his covenant forever.

Alleluia Verse
Blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.

Gospel Portion
While Jesus was speaking, a woman from the crowd called out and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that carried you and the breasts at which you nursed.” He replied, “Rather, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.

Peace be with you,
Deacon Gerry
