Flee for your life!
OR
Why are you terrified?
Today’s readings give us the perfect comparison between a life lived in the peace of G-d and a one lived outside of the peace of G-d.
- If one is tormented by the place and people where you are – Flee for your life!
- If one is frightened by the place and people where you are but you are firm in the Lord – Be Calm! Have faith!
How do we know the difference? Reading this blog in a life of faith then #2.
But, more deeply, let us take our guide by the Psalmist (PS 26) today.
Search me, O LORD, and try me; test my soul and my heart. – help me to know the right path between doing good or evil. To Flee or to be calm.
[I try to] walk in integrity.
[I need you to] redeem me, and have mercy on me.
[I act upright] My foot stands on level ground.
[I join in praise of the Lord] in the assemblies I will bless the LORD.
[Sidebar] Let us not error in the understanding of Lot’s ministry (and the duration of his stay) among the people of Sodom and Gomorrah. St Peter said, and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man oppressed by the licentious conduct of unprincipled people (for day after day that righteous man living among them was tormented in his righteous soul at the lawless deeds that he saw and heard), then the Lord knows how to rescue the devout from trial (2 Ptr 2:7-9a).

As dawn was breaking, the angels urged Lot on, saying, “On your way! Take with you your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away in the punishment of Sodom.”
