The Mission happens to have a Church

Greetings on this the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord
Readings: Dn 7:9-10, 13-14; Ps 97:1-2, 5-6, 9; 2 Pt 1:16-19; Mt 17:1-9
Notes: – The Church does not happen to have a mission, rather, the Mission happens to have a Church – Anon.

The Transfiguration is always celebrated on the 2nd Sunday of Lent and today.
Lent version: http://deacongerrypalermo.blog/2020/03/12/transfiguration/

The Transfiguration is a audio and visual part of the mission – the revelation of G-d as person, as son, as beloved, as teacher, as friend, and as pleasing to the Father.
Jesus prepares for his exodus.

First Reading
One like a Son of man coming, on the clouds of heaven; When he reached the Ancient One and was presented before him, The one like a Son of man received dominion, glory, and kingship; all peoples, nations, and languages serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that shall not be taken away, his kingship shall not be destroyed.

Responsorial
The Lord is king, the Most High over all the earth.

Second Reading
Beloved: We did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we had been eyewitnesses of his majesty.

Gospel Acclamation
This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.

Gospel
A bright cloud cast a shadow over them, then from the cloud came a voice that said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.”

Peace be with you,
Deacon Gerry
