And still there is room

Holding Hands and Journeying together

Greetings on this the Tuesday of the Thirty-first Week in Ordinary Time
Readings: Rom 12:5-16ab; Ps 131:1bcde, 2, 3; Lk 14:15-24
Notes: A Part of One Another
We, though many, are one Body in Christ and individually parts of one another.

Science and religion weave around one another. At times they seem to conflict and then they harmonize as we grow deeper in understanding.

We are a part of one another. We are unique instance of human, yet not human without each other and we each have particular gifts. We are all invited to the banquet and still there is room.

I am not fully myself until I recognize you are a part of me. Especially those who feel being made apart: the poor and the crippled, the blind and the lame. You are a part of me.

First Reading
Brothers and sisters: We, though many, are one Body in Christ and individually parts of one another. Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us exercise them.

Responsorial
In you, O Lord, I have found my peace.

Gospel Acclamation
Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest, says the Lord.

Gospel
Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in here the poor and the crippled, the blind and the lame.’ The servant reported, ‘Sir, your orders have been carried out and still there is room.’ The master then ordered the servant, ‘Go out to the highways and hedgerows and make people come in that my home may be filled.

Peace be with you,
Deacon Gerry
