Summary
Late night entry.
Therefore the Lord himself will give you this sign: the virgin shall be with child, and bear a son, and shall name him Emmanuel, which means “God is with us! (ISA 7:14).
The most profound and universal promise of the Lord is that he is with us. Good times and bad times. The Lord knows the life we live and journey’s with us every day.
Blessed Mother
Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father, and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever, and of his Kingdom there will be no end. (Luke 1:30-33).”
Personal Reflection
In today’s day and age we have so many self-help guides, psychological insights, science and the arts for discovery and expression. But at the end of the day we need a loving Mother who, first among all, knows as the Son knows our worries and hopes.
- And coming to her, [the Angel] said, “Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you. (LK 1:28).
- And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, and we saw his glory, the glory as of the Father’s only Son, full of grace and truth (Jn 1:14).
All all these things, Mary and Jesus are my strength.
