Greetings on this the Saturday of the Twenty-seventh Week in Ordinary Time
Readings: Joel 4:12-21; Psalm 97:1-2, 5-6, 11-12; Luke 11:27-28
Summary
While Jesus was speaking, a woman from the crowd called out and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that carried you and the breasts at which you nursed.” He replied, “Rather, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.” (Lk 11:27-28).
Reflection
Today’s gospel portion is short and to the point.
- Hear the Lord.
- Observe what he says to do.
For this command which I am giving you today is not too wondrous or remote for you. It is not in the heavens, that you should say, “Who will go up to the heavens to get it for us and tell us of it, that we may do it?” Nor is it across the sea, that you should say, “Who will cross the sea to get it for us and tell us of it, that we may do it?” No, it is something very near to you, in your mouth and in your heart, to do it (Duet 30:11-14)..
Personal Reflection
Stop making things complicated.
