Near and Far

Greetings on this Thanksgiving Day
Readings: Sirach 50:22-24; Psalm 145:2-3, 4-5, 6-7, 8-9, 10-11; 1 Corinthians 1:3-9; Luke 17:11-19

Using the Thanksgiving readings today.

Summary

They stood at a distance from him and raised their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master! Have pity on us!” And one of them, realizing he had been healed, returned, glorifying God in a loud voice and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. God is faithful, and by him you were called to fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. I will praise your name for ever, Lord. (Lk 17:12b-13, 15-16a, 1 Cor 3:9, PS 145:1).

Reflection

The Lord is near and can seem far from us. It really depends upon us. We can shout to him from afar. We can be near, at his feet. May he grant you a wise heart and abide with you in peace (Sir 50:23).
