Greetings on this the Tuesday of the Fourth Week in Ordinary Time
Readings: 2 Samuel 18:9-10, 14b, 24-25a, 30–19:3; Psalm 86:1-2, 3-4, 5-6; Mark 5:21-43
Summary
Christ took away our infirmities and bore our diseases. He took the child by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum,” which means, “Little girl, I say to you, arise!” The girl, a child of twelve, arose immediately and walked around. [At that] they were utterly astounded. Peter said, “I have neither silver nor gold, but what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, [rise and] walk.” Through the intercession of Saint Blaise, bishop and martyr, may God deliver you from ailments of the throat and from every other evil. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen (Mt 8:17; MK 5:41-42; Acts 3:6, Prayer of Saint Blaise).
Reflection
Yesterday, today and tomorrow, the Lord heals and consoles, young and old alike, in the infinite love of the Father.
Personal Reflection
The intercession of the Saints (living and dead) is a long held teaching of the Church. Let all those in Heaven advocate for you before the Heavenly Father, as Jesus does, so do we.
