Summary

The Word of God became flesh and made his dwelling among us; and we saw his glory (John 1:14ab).

Yesterday – Jesus’ Yes

“The one who sent me is with me.
He has not left me alone,
because I always do what is pleasing to him.”
Because he spoke this way, many came to believe in him.

Today – Mary’s Yes and Humility

And coming to her, he said,
“Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you.”
Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord.
May it be done to me according to your word.”

Tomorrow – Jesus’ Humility

Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is worth nothing;
but it is my Father who glorifies me,
of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’
You do not know him, but I know him.

Forever

By this “will,” we have been consecrated
through the offering of the Body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Reflection

This is my 11th Reflection on the Annunciation.

My friends, the Glory of Jesus and Mary is their humble obedience to the Father.

Please don’t create theological confusion by this direct comparison of Mary and Jesus. Just let it sit with its power of faith. Mary has faith in God and later in her Son (Do whatever he tells you to do). The Son, showing us the fullness of Divine Love obeying the Father as ones united in love and purpose. The Father desires the Salvation of Souls. Jesus and his Mother show us how we too can participate in the saving work of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Personal Reflection

Blessed Mother, I love you.
