Greetings on this the Wednesday of the Fourth Week of Lent
Readings: Is 49:8-15; PS 145:8-9, 13cd-14, 17-18; Jn 5:17-30
Jesus continues to reveal himself more specifically.
“My Father is at work until now, so I am at work.”
For this reason they tried all the more to kill him,
because he not only broke the sabbath
but he also called God his own father, making himself equal to God.
The Father/Son raise the dead.
The Father/Son give life.
The Father does not judge and neither does the Son.
The Father and the Son are one.
The Son judges, not as we judge, he asserts the certainty of The Way as a way of life and the wickedness being the way of self-destruction.
Which way do we want to go?
Peace be with you,
Deacon Gerry
