First Reading
Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
Let God be God: whenever a person turns to the Lord the veil is removed.
Responsorial Psalm
The glory of the Lord will dwell in our land.
Near indeed is his salvation to those who fear him,
glory dwelling in our land.
It is not by coercion does this happen but by the voluntary obedience of believers.
Every nation, no matter how vile, is blessed if ‘even one’ righteous person obeys God.
It is by way of example and the blessing that conversion comes.
Keep a close eye on what you do, not on the mistakes of others.
Let God be God: whenever a person turns to the Lord the veil is removed.
Allelluia Verse
I give you a new commandment:
love one another as I have loved you.

For today the reflection is upon the veil.
It has many meanings.
- The veil is a shield to hide from our eyes evil things we should not see.
- The veil is a shield to hide sacred we are not ready for.
- The veil is a shield to hide the tabernacle.
- The veil is the wedding garment that indicates the separation.
My prayer for you and me.
Lord remove my veil.
- Let me be certain of the things I should know about things I should not see.
- Let me enjoy the sacred by making me ready for them.
- Let the sanctuary no longer be veiled but Christ fully revealed in love.
- Let me be like a bride to you, my Groom, my love.
Peace be with you,
Deacon Gerry
