An informal declaration: (370 CE)
The Nisibene Hymns named the city of Nisibis included hymn number 27 (77 in all).
Number 27 written the year 370 CE says:
You alone and your Mother
are more beautiful than any others;
For there is no blemish in you,
nor any stain upon your Mother.
Who of my children
can compare to the beauty of these?
by Ephraim, born in Nisibis
A formal proclamation: (1854)
Pope Pius IX, INEFFABILIS DEUS 1854, “The most holy Virgin Mary was, in the first moment of her conception, by a unique gift of grace and privilege of almighty God, in view of the merits of Jesus Christ the Redeemer of mankind, preserved free from all stain of original sin.”
Paul in his letter to the Corinthians describes what it means to think anew.
new things have come.
And all this is from God,
who has reconciled us to himself through Christ
and given us the ministry of reconciliation,
namely, God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ.
We are ambassadors for Christ.
New expression of worship.
The Lord is kind and merciful.
Blessed is the Virgin Mary who kept the word of God
and pondered it in her heart.
Son, why have you done this to us?
Your father and I have been looking for you with great anxiety.”
So Mary enters into the new. This is new. This has to be taken in, questioned and accepted.
If the Annunciation was new and surely so, then this is new in a different way.
Why were you looking for me?
Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?
Mary then kept all these things in her heart.
Mary is the Head Ambassador.
She most perfectly expresses the knowing and preaching of Jesus by her most gentle heart in her own particular way.
Breaking out is a key sign of one’s growth in faith. Questioning, wondering, exploring what and how and why we worship as we do. When doing so within the assurance of the love that is God one makes break through insights and actions.
- Don’t put Jesus in a bottle.
- Don’t put yourself in a bottle.
Mary on that day had a break through. She and her Son have a place.
You have the same place.
Did you not know that you, dear one, must be in my Father’s house?
Peace be with you,
