Summary
In today’s sacred Scripture we encounter ourselves and our relationship with the Divine.
- The first reading, Paul charges us with a task: Proclaim the word, always.
- The responsorial, the psalmist declares O GOD, I will tell of your singular justice, and again, I will sing your praises with the harp.
- The Alleluia verse, Blessed is the Virgin Mary who kept the word of God and pondered it in her heart.
- The gospel portion today, his mother kept all these things in her heart.
Reflection
Jesus challenges us, as he did his Mother, Why were you looking for me?
Before we answer him, let us first ponder the question and our answer.
Let us not rush to an answer, filled with the trite and cliche.
Personal Reflection
In some small way, each of us, should share the answer Jesus gave to his blessed mother.
Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?”
Make time for the Father.
Mom will be pleased.

Beloved: I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingly power: proclaim the word; be persistent whether it is convenient or inconvenient; convince, reprimand, encourage through all patience and teaching.
Responsorial
I will sing of your salvation.

Gospel
“Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?”
