This is a very comprehensive plan indeed. It is well written and carefully constructed. You don’t have to agree with it at all but it is worthy scholarship and requires some attention. I would hope the other party could mirror the document and present their agreeing points and disagreement points using the same format. This is worthy political discourse.
However, it is difficult to tolerate the unnecessary characterizations used in the document.
Worthy political discussion does not require nor is it helpful to include evocative phrases:
- Radical prejurative (insert target) – 49 times.
- Politicize prejurative – 22 times.
- Woke – 35 times.
- Leftist – 16 times.
- Moral prejuratives (coercion, taint, depravity, foundation) – 8 times. Note I am not including ordinary uses of the word, just evocative and misuse of the policy discussion.
Mischaracterizations of meaning and purpose:
- German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer called “cheap grace” – page 11, for example, multiple occurrences. A core misleading use and poorly understood value.
- “pursuit of Blessedness.” A core misleading use and poorly understood value.
Key words:
- Abortion – 199 times.
- Military – 169 times.
- Communist – 138 times.
- Border – 119 times.
- Budget – 404 times.
Change Beyond the Cycles
With just a little more effort this could have been an excellent document. Yet with this overhead, the document will lose audience for its moralistic (not moral) views.
