The Rejection at Nazareth
The Return to Nazareth is a consequential story in the life of Jesus. It is unique to the gospel of Luke in its detail. He did not forget the place of his family. He reserved for them the most important truth of his life. The Meaning and Purpose of the Messiah. Who is the Messiah is answered by the sacred question: Why have I come? He Opened the scrolls.
Why have I come?
- He came to fulfill the Prophet Isaiah.
- He is the completion of the works of the prophets Elijah and Elisha.
Prophecy then is given its ultimate and final purpose: healing everyone.
Healing
- Glad tidings to the poor (you matter).
- Liberty to captives (you are free to choose).
- Recovery of sight to the blind (you may see, in the body and the soul).
- Let the oppressed go free (limitless in your capacity).
- Proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord (joyful in love).
Summary
If I may, I will use quantum entanglement as a form of expression, please.
The LORD announces his entanglement with us. He has decided to allow us and our reactions to have effect across the Cosmos. It is an emergent reality that starts with revelation and the movement between and among us and we begin to see the entirety of the mosaic of the entanglement (in time and outside of time). We are connected substantially and inextricably. “How” we are directly determines the ‘how’ of all others.
This Spirit anointing and mission transcends time and space. His healing mission and our response is the quintessential of understanding connection. To the extent the Divine allows, we change the LORD by our response to his love. He is Joy, shares Joy and has Joy reflected back to him.
Reflection
Prophecy has one ultimate purpose but to heal the connections between us.
Personal Reflection
This story in the life of Jesus changed my life. Of course many times heard it proclaimed in Church. But once when attending a teaching session post Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP), the priest spoke the words of Jesus not as text but as the living breath of G-d, and a divine promise to everyone. This is what it means to be Messiah. And for me, this is how I wish to order my life. It was exactly as Saint Paul described his mission, I apply to the lips of Jesus himself. My proclamation were not with persuasive words of wisdom, but with a demonstration of spirit and power, so that your faith might rest not on human wisdom but on the power of God.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me.
I have not been the same since. Outwardly I don’t suppose much changed. Faith, work and family. But within me these are the words of covenant.
