Greetings on this the Saturday of the Second Week of Easter
Readings: Acts 6:1-7; Psalm 33:1-2, 4-5, 18-19; John 6:16-21
Summary
They saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they began to be afraid. But he said to them, “It is I. Do not be afraid.” They wanted to take him into the boat, but the boat immediately arrived at the shore to which they were heading (Jn 6:19-21).
Pope Leo XIV has sustained some threats. Jesus whispers, It is I. Do not be afraid – to our new Pope, to our new Bishop Manuel.

Today the Bishop comes to confer the Sacrament of Confirmation for our parish faithful having grown in faith as young people and to be fully in communion with the Church. Jesus whispers, It is I. Do not be afraid.
Reflection

Today’s first reading recalls the laying on of hands for the first deacons of the Church. Brothers, select from among you seven reputable men, filled with the Spirit and wisdom, whom we shall appoint to this task (Acts 6:3). Jesus whispers, It is I. Do not be afraid.
Personal Reflection

Pray for our bishops and the Bishop of Rome – Pope Leo XIV. May they be strengthened by Jesus himself and by us.
