There was great joy in that city

Greetings on this the Wednesday of the Third Week of Easter
Readings: Acts 8:1b-8; Psalm 66:1-3a, 4-5, 6-7a; John 6:35-40

Summary

For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him [on] the last day.” (Jn 6:40).

Reflection

There was great joy in that city. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy (Acts 8:8; Ps 66:1).

Personal Reflection

We are in the Season of Easter Joy. The Resurrection is about him and for us (divine love revealed, human need met). Jesus’ healing ministry continued in the Apostles as our reading from Acts describes today. Even that, in a progressively articulated way, begins to be secondary to the preeminent and amazing reality – the promise of Resurrection to Life and the permanence of Jesus’ presence in the Holy Eucharist.

That brings joy to the entire earth in every city, town and countryside.
