Greetings on this the Thursday of the Second Week of Advent
Readings: IS 41:13-20; PS 145:1 AND 9, 10-11, 12-13AB; MT 11:11-15
From Isaiah
The afflicted and the needy seek water in vain, their tongues are parched with thirst.
I, the LORD, will answer them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
From the Gospel
Whoever has ears ought to hear.
Jesus speaks of John and his culminating role as a prophet. The very height of prophecy where man is inspired by God to speak with the audacity to speak for God.
If you are willing to accept it, we listen closely to the prophets, especially John and know the dew for Israel is coming.
I will be like the dew to Israel; He will blossom like the lily, And he will take root like the cedars of Lebanon. (Hos 14:4)
Peace be with you,
Deacon Gerry
